Empathetic Respirator
As the humans continue to become more and more health focused, it is essential that the healthcare industry become more human focus. One way to create a more human connection between the patient and the healthcare provider is to see eye-to-eye, literally.
Insights From Observation
As illustrated above, a full suit of PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) obscures the face; dehumanizing the healthcare provider. Additionally, the PPE cumbersome, requiring the healthcare provider to apply many layers of equipment onto themselves.
Ideation
The main intention with this design is to create a safe, transparent barrier between the patient and the healthcare provider which allows for facial features to be distinguished. This would keep the healthcare provider safe while comforting the patient.
